Summary Three cases are reported in which short‐wave diathermy was inadvertently given to the pelvis in the early weeks of pregnancy. Two term deliveries and one abortion resulted. The rise in intrauterine temperature during short‐wave diathermy treatment was measured and it is concluded that apart from the time of fertilization, the danger to the pregnancy from this accident is not as great as has been supposed.
