Summary In a comparison of 51 pairs of plasma oestriol and urinary oestriol levels during pregnancy the correlation coefficient was highly significant. This close relationship of plasma and urinary oesiriol values was present not only in normal pregnancy, but also in the serial assays made in pregnancy complications. No significant variation in plasma oestriol values was found between blood samples taken in the morning and evening.
