The aims of this project were to explore the needs of family caregivers in the Chinese‐American community and to develop training videos for caregivers on dressing stroke survivors. In‐depth, semi‐structured, open‐ended interviews were used to explore the problems of caregivers of stroke survivors. Forty participants were recruited from Chinese‐American communities. Verbatim interview transcripts were coded and analyzed. Four main concerns emerged: the impact and adjustment in lifestyle for family caregivers; lack of social activities and failure to seek community support; physical and mental stress and methods to alleviate stress, such as instruction in heavy lifting and guidance for daily activities, which include dressing. An 18‐min video was produced to provide instruction on dressing stroke survivors for those who need this information. Also, this article addresses the lack of social activities and information about community or public services.
