At the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Society for Psychophysiological Research, the first awards for Distinguished Contribution to Psychophysiology were made to Chester Darrow and R. C. Davis by President Laverne C. Johnson. Eulogies were given by their respective students, Gary R. Gullickson and Martha E. Bernal, in tribute to these two of SPR's most eminent pioneers. The plaques have since been given to the Darrow and Davis families. Following are the texts of the eulogies given at the meeting, October 17, 1969.
