AT its annual meeting it has become the custom of the American Pediatric Association to devote one day to the holding of two Symposia. In 1968 the subjects chosen were related: in the morning the future forms of medical care for children and in the afternoon the ways of introducing medical students to these new concepts. The papers read at the Symposia and the discussion which followed are reported in the November issue of The American Journal of Diseases of Children. Those in the United Kingdom who are concerned about the future forms in which medical care for children will be delivered will find the whole Symposia–especially the morning session–very interesting. Paediatrics is as much at the cross‐roads in the United States as it is here. Those who believe that we could solve our problems by emulating the present American system are in for a rude awakening.
