SUMMARY Children of low birthweight are specially liable to cerebral palsy, mental retardation and other disabilities. In trying to diagnose or foresee such disabilities in an infant, the motor signs and reflex findings should be assessed repeatedly and compared with those of normal infants of similar age, judged by the estimated time of conception. RÉSUMÉ Diagnostic précoce et troubles neuro‐moteurs chez les enfants de poids de naissance faible Les enfants de poids de naissance faible sont specialement exposes a presenter une infirmite motrice cérébrale, un retard mental et d'autres troubles varies. Pour essayer de diagnostiquer ou prevoir de telles perturbations chez un enfant, les signes moteurs et l'etat des reflexes devraient etre appreci^s de fagon reguliere et compares a ceux d'enfants normaux du meme age, apprecies d'apres l'age estime de la conception. ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Früherkennung neuromotorischer Störungen bei Kindern von geringem Geburtsgewicht Kinder von geringem Geburtsgewicht neigen besonders zu Cerebraler Kinderlahmung, geistiger Retardierung und anderen Storungen. In dem Versuch, solche Storungen im Kindesalter zu erkennen und voracuszusehen, sollten die motorischen Leistungen und Reflexe immer wieder gepriift und mit denen gleichaltriger Kinder, gemessen am Konzep‐tionsalter, verglichen werden. RESUMEN Reconocimiento precoz de Disfunción Neuromotora en lactantes con bajo peso al nacer Niños con poco peso al nacer son especialmente propensos a sufrir paralisis cerebral, retardo mental y otras disfunciones. Al tratar de diagnosticar o prever tales disfunciones en el lactante, es preciso explorar, repetidamente los signos motores y los reflejos y com‐pararlos con los de los lactantes normales de la misma edad, juzgada esta segiin el tiempo de concepci6n presumido.
