E nuretic children seen by a physician are more likely to be emotionally disturbed than children who have been dry at night since the age of 2 or 3 years. Nevertheless the majority appear to have no problems apart from their symptom of enuresis (Barbour et al. 1963, Hallgren 1957, Kanner 1960, Werry and Cohrssen 1965). Pathological findings are also relatively infrequent in enuretic children, so that the causation in most cases is quite obscure.
