S ummary Ectomycorrhizal syntheses between Paxillus involutus (Batsch.) Fr. and Betula pendula Roth, were carried out in controlled conditions. The fungal symbiont forms mycorrhizas with axenic seedlings and microcuttings derived from a clone produced in vitro of birch. The symbiosis stimulates the growth of the whole of the mycorrhizal plants. From a histological study of synthesized material, various stages of the mycorrhizal formation were described.
