SUMMARY Inoculation of three crop plants, viz. cotton, cowpea and finger millet to inoculation with the VA mycorrhizal fungus, Glomus fasciculatus , in an unsterile Indian soil low in available phosphorus significantly increased their root and shoot weights. The phosphorus and zinc content of inoculated plants were higher. Inoculated plants did not differ significantly from uninoculated plants in manganese content.
