S ummaryTrifolium molinerii (T. incarnatum ssp. molinerii) is shown to be a strongly maritime plant growing typically in head deposits on schistose cliffs and a member of the Thero‐Sedetum anglici Association of Malloch, (1971). Principle co‐ordinates analysis of quadrat data separated eight groupings, which are interpreted in terms of environmental factors in particular in relation to position on the cliff profile. The status of the clover is discussed and, although biotic influences and human interference are important factors in its present distribution, the plant is considered to be native.
