S ummary Feeding of specific leaves has been used to follow the uptake and translocation of 35 SO 2 in soy‐bean plants at the four‐leaf stage. The effect of leaf age and position on the translocation pattern have been examined and an analysis made of the distribution of radioactivity with time. The results are discussed with reference to data for movement of 14 CO 2 and foliar applied 35 SO 2‐ 4 , and to the ecological implications.
