S ummary High resolution radioautography was used to demonstrate the transfer of carbon compounds from alga to fungus in Cladonia cristatella Tuck. After a 24 hour incubation with 14 CO 2 , most of the label appeared in the algal chloroplast around the pyrenoid and in starch. The label in the fungus was present largely in the hyphal wall.
