S ummary Pollen spectra are given from eight present‐day habitats of Helianthemum species. From a consideration of the recent and Late‐glacial spectra it is concluded that Helianthemum ‐rich communities contributed only a part of the Late‐glacial pollen rain, and that they were probably mostly grass‐dominated. Some implications of the occurrence of Helianthemum for Late‐glacial conditions are discussed.
