Numerous studies have documented that bats are unusually long‐lived for small mammals (Tuttle & Stevenson, 1982; Jürgens & Prothero, 1987 and references therein). In the absence of data on overall population dynamics, longevity can be an important demographic parameter for interspecific comparisons (Tuttle & Stevenson, 1982). Here, we present the first data on the longevity of a small population of Tadarida teniotis .
