A badger's nest was discovered by a farmer's wife in a barn near Curry Rivel, Somerset on 30 January 1986. Squeaking noises were heard coming from a large mound of loose hay in a corner of the barn. When the farmer moved some of the hay to find out what was making the noise an angry badger reared up and faced him menacingly.
