Five species of Macropodidae were filmed, hopping across level ground. They ranged in size from potoroo (about 0.5 kg) to eastern grey kangaroo (about 60 kg). Animals were pursued to make them hop as fast as possible. Analysis of film enabled speeds, stride lengths, stride frequencies, duty factors and Froude numbers to be determined. These are discussed in relation to body size.
