Feral goats are distributed along the western coastal fringe of the island. Male and female home ranges are distinct and are associated with coastal shelter caves. The population has fluctuated cylically since records began in 1960. This cycle has a period of about six years and is maintained by changing levels of intraspecific competition at different population sizes brought about by variation in the total reproductive output of different generations of females.
