A new species of oribatid mite belonging to the genus Trimalaconothrus is described from specimens taken from a crater lake in West Cameroon. This new species can be distinguished from other members of the genus, for which detailed descriptions are available, by a unique combination of morphological characters. The viviparous habit of the species is also noted.
