The fossil fauna from an Upper Pleistocene habitation site in Jordan is described. Seven species of mammal are represented, three of these being recorded for the fist time from Jordan. The faunal remains are compared with those from Mount Cannel and other Pleistocene sites in the Near East. It is suggested that the site was occupied during an early inter‐ stadial of the last glaciation when savannah conditions prevailed.
