A new pseudoscorpion, Chthonius (Ephippiochthonius) kewi sp. n., was collected at Colne Point, Essex. The deutonymph, tritonymph and adults are described in detail, particular attention being paid to the chaetotaxy. Its taxonomic status is discussed, and keys are provided to allow its inclusion among both the European and British species. The significance of the changes in the chaetal series during development is discussed in relation to the taxonomy of the genus.
