The breeding season of three ascidians in Jamaica has been studied by counting the number of newly settled individuals each week on microscope slides suspended in the sea. Settlement occurs throughout the year with greatest numbers in autumn and early winter. These peaks cannot at present be correlated with any specific environmental influence.
