The Senegal galago appears to have an oestrous cycle lasting four to six weeks and recurring throughout the year. It most probably exhibits a post‐partum oestrus. The intensity of sexual activity varies during the year and this gives the appearance of one or more restricted breeding periods. In the Nuba mountains there is a period of intense sexual activity in mid‐December. A well‐developed sequence of changes occurs in the vaginal epithelium during the oestrous cycle. These changes are typical of those seen in other mammals. The corpus luteum of pregnancy, which may become pedunculated, only lasts for about the first third of pregnancy. Twin pregnancies are uncommon.
