Summary.1 A new kind of abnormal heart in a frog is described. 2 The heart was of the straight form, without sigmoid flexion, having an anterior ventricle. 3 The heart differed from previous cases in lacking a persistent dorsal mesocardium. 4 Absence of a sigmoid flexion is due to abnormal anterfor growth and ventral fusion of the lateral components of the septum transversum. 5 The parts of the heart free to move have undergone various torsions and exhibit internal abnormalities which are described and interpreted. 6 The mode of action of the normal frog's heart is discussed. 7 An abnormality of the left lung of the specimen is described.
