Since this article went to press further papers have been published and I have see11 some additional earlier ones. These include a study of the host-parasite interface of Albugo candida on Raphanus sativus (Berlin & Bowen, 1964a) which confirms earlier results with Peronospora (Peyton & Bowen, 1963); a study of the haustorium of Erys+he graminis (Erlich & Erlich, 1963) which supports these authors’ earlier work on rusts; an account of well-developed and typical centrioles in Albugo (Berlin & Bowen, 1964 b ) ; further observations on the dolipore of Rhizoctonia solani including evidence for the passage of mitochondria through it (Bracker & Butler, 1964); a study of bodies which from the photographs could well be migrating nuclei, associated with the simple septal pore of two species of Ascomycetes (Schrantz, 1964); the effect of biotin on fine structure of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Dixon & Rose, 1964); changes in density of nuclei and cytoplasmic organization of Candida albicans treated with thiobenzoate (Gale & McLain, 1964) ; starvation-induced reduction in number and size of yeast mitochondria (Joly, 1957); further details of ascospore formation in yeast (Marquardt, 1963); a study of the ultrastructure of the basidia of Exidiu nucleatcr (Wells, 1964).
