Summary The use of synthetic oligopeptides with a fluorescent detector group for the localization of thrombin and activated factor X activity after electrophoresis is described. This new technique provides high specificity and resolution. This approach to the detection of blood coagulation factors II and X can be extended to other factors, where their specific peptide cleavage sequence is known.
