Summary An attempt has been made to account for the observed departures from a model of a simple single‐locus inheritance in Huntington's Chorea. It is postulated that an indirect effect of the abnormal allele lies in its social effects on individuals in the family group whether they bear the allele or not. This acts by influencing their mate‐finding and reproductive behaviour so as to produce the observed statistical anomalies.
