SUMMARY A quinacrine fluorescent technique has been used to identify the presence and frequency of Y chromosomes at different stages of spermatogenesis in &n XYY male. Forty‐five per cent of primary spermatocytes contained two Y chromosomes associated as a YY bivalent, and the patient exhibited an increased frequency of YY bearing spermatozoa as compared to three control males.
