Examination of over 7000 white Maryland schoolchildren disclosed forty‐seven cases of iris bicolor (segmentary heterochromia). None of the cases occurred among the 2300 brown‐eyed children. The authors suggest that the normal frequency of the anomaly in other than brown‐eyed children is about 10 per 1000.
