Summary Total finger ridge counts of 200 Parsi males and 200 Parsi females were analysed. They do not display a significant sex difference, the mean value for total ridge counts in males being 139·805 (S.D. = 45·39) and for females the value being 135·905 (S.D. = 41·27). Mean ridge counts and their distributions are presented. They tend to conform generally to data from other sources but the males do not markedly have many more ridges. The right/left differentiation is not distinct. Among the European populations compared with the present sample, the Parsi females differ from all the others, whereas the males do not do so. Further comment must await more data.
