Summary Serially grown cultures of skin cells from two Klinefelter patients were established for the purpose of obtaining material for chromosome analysis. In both cases the prevailing chromosome number was 47, probably representing the normal autosomes and XX Y. In both cases, chromosome numbers above 47 were seen. This deviation from the modal number was more pronounced in one of the two cases, in which some 30 % of the cells had forty‐eight or forty‐nine chromosomes. The nature of the extra chromosomes in these cells is discussed.
