Summary This paper outlines the findings from interviews exploring the perceptions of people with learning difficulties in relation to work and employment support. We look at what people told us about their experiences in seeking employment, getting a job, being in work and about the support they received. We also make inferences from the data about the nature and extent of social inclusion associated with being in work. The varying experiences of our sample illustrate the scope of the task in hand to achieve the vision of social inclusion expressed in Valuing People .
