SUMMARY A 10‐week feasibility study was conducted to ascertain the potential value of a loosely structured psychotherapy group for young adults with mental handicaps. It was concluded that such a group, especially if held over a longer period, could provide a useful forum in which the adults could express their feelings and begin to come to terms with the issues that affect their everyday lives.
