SUMMARY. This study describes patterns of usage of mental handicap services and degree of satisfaction amongst 74 families in Cardiff. 25 of the families were receiving NIMROD services in addition to existing mental handicap services when the questionnaire was administered. Degree of satisfaction was higher in NIMROD families than in the others. The results demonstrate the impact NIMROD is having on families and the need to involve parents in future planning of services.
