SUMMARY About eight years ago a study was made of severely mentally handicapped children living at home and receiving education in day schools in the City of Birmingham. They were born in the years 1961‐47. The results of a follow‐up enquiry of some 200 subjects are reported for survival, living situation, schooling, and provisions after leaving school.
