Over the past few years there has been a growing awareness of the sexual needs of mentally handicapped people (Craft and Craft, 1978). In many instances programmes of sex education have been set up for them. But has society in general come to any kind of acceptance of the sexual needs of the mentally handicapped, or even the fact that these people are men and women ?
