This article is a detailed case study of the human resource management approach of a foreign‐owned, greenfield site establishment. The particular theme emphasised is the relationship between the nature of the organisation's competitive strategy and need for workforce flexibility, and the strategic use of the recruitment‐selection process to try to bring about this relationship.
