This afterword provides a discussion of each of the four papers, as they were presented at the 1995 Symposium at the annual meeting of the American Association of Applied Linguistics. It does so in terms of the premises of the Matrix Language Frame Model, especially the matrix language vs. embedded language distinction and the content vs. system morpheme distinction.
