Two of the newer bodies producing syllabuses for the 16 to 19 year age range are the Technician Education Council (TEC) and the Business Education Council (BEC). Trevor Easingwood, the chairman of the joint BEC/TEC committee for mathematics and statistics, describes the background to the statistics in the TEC courses.
