Cyril Hellier describes Reading for Sure, a system originating in Australia which uses diacritical marks to facilitate reading. This notion has been around some time but may be awaiting a resurgence. Hellier's findings are highly encouraging and suggest that we now have another complementary techinique to existing phonic methods.
