Permanent exclusions continue to rise at an alarming rate, Parsons and Howlett draw our attention to the figures and to the reasons for this which they identify as psychosocial problems, family problems, stretched resources and cultureal responces to beahviour. They argue that exclusion is not simply a School issue and will only be resolved by multi‐agency approaches.
