No Friend Bear is a particularly lively and interesting character that can be called on when dealing with sensitive issues in the lives of young children. Jo Williams illustrates her arguments with some very practical suggestions. As a result of disseminating these ideas throughout a school, she asserts, this has created a more amenable climate, there is less need for traditional punishments and pupils have begun to take more responsibility for their actions.
