The year 1992 will have a tremendous impact on all of us, and not simply in economic terms. The traditional isolation of the British from matters European is destined to end. Whether with reluctance or enthusiasm, we will soon have to live with a much more rapid spread of ideas. Harry Daniels and Bob Hogg are among those who have anticipated such change and are involved in a European project embracing four countries. Here they pick out initial similarities and differences in philosophy, practice and decision making accompanying developments in respect of integrating pupils. As an on‐going project we can expect to hear more of this at a future date.
