As usual, we are delighted to publish accounts of developments overseas. We feel this article, on South Africa, will be of particular interest to our readers. Lena Green is an educational psychologist and experienced teacher‐trainer and in an excellent position to comment on the changes taking place in her country at this present, turbulent time. Her contrast in the provision for white and black pupils is particularly illuminating. As South Africa moves relentlessly towards dramatic constitutional change education inevitably will rise up the political agenda. Lena demonstrates the problems but also the opportunities.
