The Hamiltonian form of the Benney system can be naturally extended by the addition of the free‐surface velocity. A natural Hamiltonian of the extended Hamiltonian structure produces an integrable system, whose dispersive analog, an extension of the Dispersive Water Waves system, is also integrable.
