Summary Some remarks on the standard error of the constant term in regression analysis. In this article a formula for the standard error of the intercept — when applying least squares — is derived for the case of two explanatory variables. This is done without using matrix algebra. The result is compared with the corresponding formula in matrix algebra, after which a design for computation is indicated.
