If research on Nordic cooperation is not founded on correct facts it will be of limited theoretical value. Although Nordic cooperation differs in various aspects from the EC model a close look at these two cases reveals that similarities are at hand. Nordic cooperation in the 1970's is characterized by increased institutionalization, politicalization and the establishment of transnational interest groups. Package‐deals of the Nordek type are replaced by sector‐solutions. Finally ten assertions in need of evidence are offered as an invitation to further research.
