.— A possible relation between sexual behavior and spontaneous ejaculation was studied in the male rat. Electrolytic lesions in the preoptic area completely abolished sexual behavior without affecting the frequency of spontaneous ejaculation. It is therefore suggested that this latter process is controlled independently of sexual behavior and sexual excitability.
