Psychol ., 1972, 13 , 1–4.—The method of dimensional analysis, applied to variables measured by means of ratio scales, leads to laws which take the form of multiplicative power functions. It is shown that the method can be extended to variables measured by means of non‐metric scales, and thus applied to a wider range of problems of the type encountered in psychology.
