The prime purpose of this article is to identify the differences we expect to find among highly gifted scientists and thus to guide us in supporting and managing their efforts. Differences that are important to this purpose can be grouped into those which describe:the way in which a person works the way in which he or she interacts with the environment the ways in which a manager can both improve the creative person's effectiveness and manage his or her performance.
