Management education is now one of the major forms of technology transfer from the West to the former USSR and a highly novel form of cultural intervention. A key challenge for Western management educators is to communicate management concepts into Russian/post‐Soviet terms of reference. Russian cultural traits may strongly influence their receptivity to management concepts. Western management educators should not fall into the trap of thinking that they are Russia's economic salvation.
